Third Wheel

Yami was sitting around playing with his anbu mask enjoying the breeze. He looked around frequently searching for anyone he knew. He sighed and closed his eyes leaning against a tree with his head back. He twirled his anbu mask then brought it to a stop. He put it on his face to keep the sun out of his eyes to be more comfortable. "The village gets more boring everyday."

"Tell me about it," came my voice from a branch in the tree.

He lifted his mask and a smile crossed his face. "Kaida-Chan. Pleasure seeing you off duty." He stood and looked up to her waving.

I jumped down, wearing my mask but not my cloak "Don't you have work to do Yami?"

He sighed. "No. Not now anyways." He looked at her thoughtful. "Why are you wearing your mask?"

I took my mask off and smiled "Force of habit." I looked around, the village was relativly quiet "I wish the hokage would give us some kind of mission today, just to give us something to do."

"Something to do huh?" He laughed. "Well the way I see it we have to options." He put his finger to his chin and looked up thinking.

"And they would be," I asked

He put his finger down. "One, we can spar." He looked around. "Or we can beg the hokage to give us a mission or make one ourselves."

"That's three options," i said laughing

"Wha- Oh. . ." He laughed and turned away. "Well at least we have more options."

"Hmm let's see, what to choose," i said thinking then a playful smirk crossed my face. The next thing Yami feels it a blast of water hitting him from behind.

He freezes up at the shock of water and turns around quickly. He laughed. "A water fight?"

"No but I think I will go with your sparring idea, begging the hokage doesn't suit me" I said putting my mask back on and drawing my katana.

He sat his mask down and drew his katana laughing. "It's been a while since we've sparred." He thought back to the days at the academy and the chuunin exams. He pupils dilated to form the sharingan. "Just in case you learned any jutsu." He laughed.

(NEWS FLASH, zaine resigned as kage <<)

"I'm sure you still remember," I said smirking as crystal spikes popped up around you "My crystal style can't be copied" (same here)

He laughed. "Doesn't mean you can't develop jutsu outside of the crystal style. For example the basic bunshin." He laughed then performed some handseals. He placed his hands on the ground creating a frog. HE performed more handseals and placed his hands on the frogs back and it pushed out fire mixed with Yami's wind destroying the crystals. "Combination jutsu are the best." The frog disappeared and he ran toward her.

"I agree" i said smirking as I performed a few handseals and slamed my hands on the ground. The ground became covered in ice which caused Yami to slip and fall.

He was above her standing on the tree he was leaning on. "Ehh, you forgot im accustomed to ice." The clone shattered into ice shards. He sheathed his sword smiling and punched her.

I caught Yami's fist and slamed him onto the ground. I kicked him onto his back and twisted his arm behind it, my foot on his back to keep him down "Would you be mad if I broke your arm," i asked smirking.

Her vision blurred. "Would you be mad if this was a genjutsu?" He smiled and kicked her into the tree laughing. "Always so violent."

"And you're not," i said and formed a handsign "Release." I said and performed more handsigns "Crystal Style: Gods' Crossing," i said and a wave of crystal spikes headed toward Yami quickly.

He laughed. A spike went between his legs and came out threw his head. He had a shocked look on his face as he coughed up blood and his eyes started to lose color. His eyes slowly closed after he reached out to Kaida saying "K-Kaida-Chan."

I look shocked and the crystal spikes shattered. "Y-Yami," i said scared and ran to him "My god what have I done"

He looked up and smiled. "You can't escape my sharingan. . .Kaida-Chan." He pushed her forehead with two of his fingers and was standing behind her.

"I had a feeling something was up," i said smirking "there's no way you'd get killed so easily"

"True." He frowned. "Kaida there is something I want to talk to you about." He sheathed his sword and picked up his anbu mask then looked at her.

"Sure, what's up," i asked sheathing my sword as well.

He clapped his hands together and his anbu mask was covered in shroud of smoke. When the smoke cleared the hat of the hokage was in it's place.

"Why do you have a Hokage hat," i asked confused as I took my mask off

He tilted his head to the side and sighed. "Wellll. . ." He looked at her waiting for her reaction.

"Yami are...you the hokage now," I asked

"Sadly." His face dropped to a frown. He walked to the tree and leaned to it.

"But...what of our Hokage, Lord Zaine," I asked confused

Yami's face darkened and looked into Kaida's eyes his mangekyou forming and him placing her in Tsukiyomi replaying Zaine leaving the village. "Either he has to do something life threatening to protect the village or. . ." He stopped talking.

My expression grew grave and I sighed "If he comes anywhere near the village I'll know," I said then bowed "my lord"

He smiled. "Your a friend. Cut the 'my lord' crap." He placed his hand in her head then his face dropped again. "Besides Zaine-Sama you were always my closest friend."

"Well we did go to the academy together," I said standing up and smiling

He performed handseals. "We never finished." He stopped and smiled. "Lightning Dragon Jutsu." Lightning surged around his body and he placed his hand out releasing a dragon of lightning.

I close my eyes and hold out my hand, the dragon curving around me and stopping to my right facing you "I wonder how you'll do against my Rinnegan," I said and opened my eyes

He laughed holding his hand out. "Let's find out." He smiled. "You know. . .the sharingan is a descendant of the rinnegan or so the legend goes." He shunshinned to her side. "Activate it."

My eyes turn a light purple, the color of my Rinnegan "This will be a very interesting fight," I said smirking

"Indeed it will be." He laughed and spun around drawing his blade and swinging it at Kane with his wind Chakra in it.

I held up my arm, Yami's katana hitting a blade made of crystal on it. I smirk and push your katana back and slash at you.

It hits him and his body starts to crack. Ice falls to the ground and he laughs. "Impressive." He jumped back and performed handseals. He was sucked into the ground and before he disappeared he smiled.

"Oh dear, now I wonder where he could be," I said in mock fear. I smirked and slamed both hands on the ground, several earth spikes and pillars popping up.

He jumped out and grabbed Kaida's leg and tried dragging her down.

I perform some handseals and aim my hand down "Water Style: Hand of Waves," I said and a powerful blast of water fires from my hand and at Yami.
